Meet the team



Marian Womack is a bilingual author, translator and editor. She was born in Andalusia and has spent her life between Scotland, Madrid, East Anglia and southern Spain. She is interested in gothic, new weird, and hybrid narratives. In 2008 she co-founded the Spanish house Ediciones Nevsky, a small press focussed on publishing genre fiction alongside classics and literary fiction. Marian was included in the literary magazine Leer's 2015 list of influential under-40s in Spanish publishing. She is the first Spanish graduate from the Clarion Writers Workshop, and her fiction in English can be read in Year’s Best Weird Fiction IIIApex Magazine, Supersonic or Weird Fiction Review. Her short story collection in English, Lost Objectsis out now. Marian has also worked as a translator between Spanish and English, translating among others Mary Shelley, Daphne du Maurier, Lord Dunsany, Silvina Ocampo and Angélica Gorodischer.

Marian lives in Cambridge, where she works as a librarian and studies at the Anglia Ruskin Centre for Science Fiction and Fantasy. She tweets as @beekeepermadrid and her personal website is



Nino Cipri is a queer and trans/nonbinary writer, teacher, and labor organizer. They are a MFA candidate in the University of Kansas's Graduate Creative Writing Program, and a graduate of the 2014 Clarion Writers’ Workshop. Their writing has appeared in, Nightmare Magazine, Fireside Fiction, and other venues. A multidisciplinary artist, Nino has written plays, screenplays, and radio features, and performed as a dancer, actor, and puppeteer. Sophie Villalobos is a British Weird fiction writer with a  particular interest in the short story and the works of Ray Bradbury, J.G. Ballard, Shirley Jackson and H. P. Lovecraft. She holds a First-class BA (Hons) degree in Writing and Film Studies from Anglia Ruskin University where she focused on the application of Lacanian and Freudian Psychoanalysis to film and literature. Her interests include a love of Weird and Gothic fiction, films, and working on her own weird illustrations.





Ivan has worked in editorial  production for indie presses for a decade, mostly in Spain but also in the UK. He is also a translator of Russian into Spanish and an artisan bookbinder.
